Weddings Las Vegas Prep: Bridal Gowns & Bridesmaid Dresses

White wedding bridal gowns are probably the most iconic symbol of marriage, at least in the Western world. Every bride deserves to feel beautiful on her special day, and many women take advantage of their weddings in Las Vegas as their one chance to truly feel like a princess living out a magical fairytale.

Luckily, there are plenty of options and fun twists on traditions for bridal gowns that can express your unique personality.  Some even maintain that classic, beautiful bridal image. Of course, you can still make the typical floor-length white gown unique with your choice of veil, shoes, and other accessories, but some ladies definitely feel more comfortable trying out slight deviations from that norm!

Color Variations of the White Wedding Gown

Ever since the white wedding dress became popular, so too have been subtle differences in the shade of white. Off-white or egg-white gives the dress a bit off a vintage look – especially with lace. However, a popular trend these days is called dip-dyeing, where the hem of the dress is carefully saturated with dye to add a pop of contrasting color against the stark white. It’s definitely a way to stand out while still giving a nod to the classic white gown. In addition, certain colors can represent different things in other cultures, so talk to your partner about what they think.

Aside from the color, there are plenty of styles to choose from according to your needs and preferences. For example, a high illusion or mesh neckline has become trendy recently.  If you’re worried about either modesty and/or having to hold up a strapless dress while you dance, there’s a solution.

Aside from the bride’s own gown, it’s important that your bridal party is looking their best as well. Generally flower-girl dresses are easy to work with.  Little kids are usually easygoing and just like dressing up in general. However, picking a bridesmaid gown can be a bit of an ordeal, depending on the opinions of the ladies in your party.

It’s an old stereotype that the bride doesn’t want the bridesmaids to look prettier than her on her special day.  Unfortunately, this is the reality for some weddings, but it does not have to be yours! All it takes is honesty and communication to come to an agreement.

Theme Variations of the Wedding Gown

Depending on your theme, there are different colors to choose from, and you have the option of not making each woman wear the same exact style, which can add some fun variation to the image of your party regardless of which wedding chapels in Las Vegas you are getting married in.

No matter what you end up deciding, as long as you and your partner are happy together, none of the details matter. Try to let go of any unnecessary drama and focus on your future together. Trust that your partner will think you are beautiful whether your dress is chiffon or silk. Do your best to enjoy the day as it comes and Vegas Simple Weddings will help you!
